Will Ferrell to Star in eSports Games Based Movie

The eSports industry continues to grow and we were rocked by the news that actor Will Ferrell is set to star in a comedy film in which he portrays a professional eSports games player! Immediately our minds started to buzz with ideas about the way in which they could develop his character and we cannot wait for it to hit the cinema.

The potential for this film is massive to us and the film is set to be titled “Legendary.” There are many legendary eSports gamers out there and Ferrell is set to star as a member of a team that play eSports games competitively. Two of the biggest eSports games teams in the world, Evil Geniuses and Fnatic are in talks with directors to make an appearance in the film but it would be cool to see cameos from other famous teams such as Digital Chaos or Wings Gaming.

Ferrell’s game of choice is a big deal to us and we can see him now throwing his controller at the ground in frustration after being shot in a game of CS:GO. We can see so much potential with the film overall and we would love to see Ferrell and his eSports games team taking part in a global tournament such as the Halo Championship Series or one of Blizzard Entertainment’s famous competitions.

The best eSports games teams won millions of pounds in 2016 with Wings Gaming topping the earnings chart with ridiculous winnings of over £7.5 million. We can see a film shaping up that could share similar themes to the brilliant Talladega Nights and we really hope Ferrell’s character is as entertaining as Ricky Bobby.

With today’s top eSports games players as young as 15, there really is a massive audience that this film will appeal to so we will be monitoring its development closely and bringing you any relevant eSports news along the way.
