If you’re new to betting on eSports then this section is the perfect place to begin, as we’ll explain everything you need to know.

The most important part of the bet is the odds, as these will show you how much you’ll get back if your bet is successful. These can be displayed in three ways; decimal, fractional and American though they are all the same, just in a different format.

Fractional

These are the most common for UK users and they can be displayed with a slash or a colon in the middle, which stands for the word ‘to’. The number on the right hand side represents the amount you bet and the number on the left represents the amount you will win with that bet. For example, odds of 2/1 would give you £2 back for every £1 you bet if successful.

Decimal

These odds make things a bit simpler than fractions, as they are just a number that shows the likelihood of the odds happening. The larger the number, the larger the return will be if it wins though it is less likely to happen with larger returns. The number represents the amount that you will get back for each £1 bet, including your stake. Odds of 3.2 would give you £3.20 back from a £1 bet.

American

Finally, the least common form of odds which is just represented by a number with no decimals or fractions. This shows how much you would get back from a £100 stake, so it’s like decimal but multiplied by 100.

The minimum bet on most games is usually £1 but certain matches can go up to a minimum of £1.50. There’s not really a set maximum on betting, just as much as you have in your account on the betting site.

When you win on one of these sites then you can request a withdrawal through their banking section. They’ll usually allow you to do so without I.D. until a set amount but after this limit you may be asked to send them a copy of your documents. Then, they’ll take a period of time to process and approve the withdrawal before sending it on to your account. Up to a set point you can choose to cancel or reverse the withdrawal until it is approved by the withdrawals team. One thing to bear in mind is that you must be 18 or over to gamble in the UK and this is why these documents may be required.
